Kristaps Porzingis Joins Golden State – Buddy Hield and Kuminga Head To Atlanta

Golden State finally have a center, and he absolutely loves to rain down threes. Kuminga got the move he’s been itching for, and Golden State lost a buddy.

Now it might not be the player they wanted (Giannis), but Porzingis is a stud. When he plays. That’s the key, and the real issue. They brought in a player to fill a genuine void in their squad, and through injury or health, it’s an unreliable player.

I love Kristaps, he the perfect modern center. Great scorer inside and outside, an elite shot blocker and can screen and roll.

His height advantage is also a given.

It feels very surface level to point this out, but it’s just the case. This is a great addition for the Warriors when he’s going to be on the court, but how often that can happen, will determine whether this is a good trade. If we’re being completely honest, I’d lean towards terrible trade, because his health is his health.

On the Atlanta side, amazing. They got some more perimeter shooting, and with Buddy Hield and Luke Kennard, they are going to be cooking from beyond the ark. Alongside their new star Kuminga, who I honestly think should start for them, the Hawks just got a whole lot better. Dangerous in the paint, dangerous from three, and elite defenders at guard and forwards.

Okongwu definitely leaves something to be desired at the center position. Great player, I just don’t think that’s his area of expertise, but if they can find someone to fill that spot over the next day, they have a serious squad. Even if it’s a Valanciunas level player.

Overall, I’d say the Hawks win this trade by a landslide, but the Warriors do have a strong upside. You’ve just got to wonder how Jimmy Butler is feeling, season over, best mate gone, tough days.
