Newcastle’s Striker Problem – Can It Get Any Worse?
Newcastle United Are In Panic Mode!
Having already sent their proposal/transfer package to Benjamin Sesko, the RB Leipzig striker is yet to accept. With Manchester United waiting in the wings, this is a serious worry for Newcastle.

Having already let Callum Wilson’s contract expire, and Liverpool waiting to pounce at the Isak opportunity, there is a genuine possibility that Newcastle start the season without a striker.

The Magpies backup option is Yoanne Wissa from Brentford, who I believe would be an incredible signing, especially for as little as the rumoured £30 million. I do believe Brentford will bump that price by at least £10 million though, given that they’ve already lost Mbuemo, and it’s quite late in the window to find a replacement.

The funny thing is, I think the winner of the race for Sesko actually loses, as his price makes him a massive risk. We’ve seen better players come to the Premier League for less money and still flop, and it would be a big ask for the 22 year old to revolutionise either sides attack.
